The Pacifying Traditions Of The Swiss

If there is one thing that I can say explain the residents of Switzerland, it is that they are extremely noncommittal. I don't mean it in a horrid way, since I see nothing unsuitable in their idea of having a mentality that can be compared to a hedgehog. During my soujourn to Switzerland, I have heard tales on how the small region managed to keep out invaders because of their snowy mountains. It seems that the Swiss Alps have more key functions, aside from providing journeyer with ample snow for winter sports.

Some people can call it casual manner, the way the Swiss try to avoid conflict in order to protect their interests. However, they don't care about what other people think, since that stance was already deep-rooted into every little Swiss. For them, self-preservation is more key than standing out; peace has bigger value than power or prestige. I've been shuttling in and out of their region for so long that I agree with their outlooks. So what if they don't want to implicate themselves in the issues that bother the world outside theirs? As long as they can properly run their region on their own; as long as their ski resorts are in top shape; and as long as they don't plan on developing weapons of mass destruction, a hedgehog-like attitude may be a impressive idea.
